Guide to Research Download Tool for SPD Firmware

There are two available tools for flashing .pac file of Spreadtrum chipset, first is Research Download Tool and Upgrade Download Tool. These tools allow you to flash .PAC stock rom /firmware.  In this tutorial, I will be going to show you step by step how to properly use SPD Download Tool / SPD Upgrade Tool. I will recommend the research download because it give the privilege of selecting the file to be flash

     How to Use Research Download Tool / Upgrade Download Tool

1. Extract research download/upgrade download tools to a preferred location e.g desktop.
2. First you must install the Spreadtrum drivers. Right click Here to know How. If you are using Windows 8/10, you must disable the driver signature to install the unsigned driver.
3. Open Research Download folder and run ResearchDownload.exe.

• Locate the stock firmware.pac of the device
• After you’ve chosen the pac file. You should see something similar to the image below.

• If you want to change flash settings. Click the second gear icon. But I always recommend you to change it and flash only the appropriate file to avoid white screen. Select only the system file and the userdata for virus attack and only userdata for pin,pattern, and password. If problem not resolve now you can try full flashing

Now click the arrow to begin flashing. See the image below.

7. When you’re done clicking the arrow, turn off your Android phone and wait for at least 15 seconds. Grab the usb cable, hold volume down and plug in your device into the computer. The process should start automatically. You can now release the volume button.
